Nothing is really known about this tower, but it was mentioned in the 1873 report on the state of coastal defences. It was probably washed into the sea before 1900.

1851 occupants were Boatman John Wallace, wife Jane, and children Mary, Catherine, James, George, Samuel, Isabella and Elizabeth. Also resident were Coast Guard William West, with Mary and their children Elizabeth, William, Ellen, James, Cephus and Thomas.
