Foundation to Firestep charts the construction of the South Coast Martello Towers in real time, using information from 200 years ago. Extracts from official documents and newspapers will appear on the anniversary of their original composition/publication.
The photograph of Tower 15 in 2005 is probably not too different from how it looked exactly 200 years ago; on 7 November 1805, it was reported that the tower had been "raised as high as platform for the guns & secured for the Winter." 1
